top-rope Belay lesson

Top Rope belay instruction will start you on your path to rope climbing. It's easy, fast to learn and we can get you there. It requires basic, nationally recognized practices for bottom managed belays, repetition to burn it to the synapses and a quick test to confirm skill retention. Then you are off to the races. Our friendly professionals will equip you with all you need to know to get you ready. Our goal is to help you become confident and comfortable climbers in the application of your experience. This lesson reinforces skills essential to taking on walls anywhere in North America while empowering you and your partner in a non-intimidating, compassionate space.

Climbers must be at least 14 years old to belay. All those who want to top rope belay, must pass a skills review by North Peak Climbing and Fitness personnel or sign up for a class, free with membership.

Introduction class

This class is the quickest way for beginners to start climbing. 

The class covers:

  • Intro to gear
  • Bouldering 
  • Knot tying
  • Belay and climbing commands
  • Climbing and belaying technique

  • Climbing Movement Class
  • Lead Climbing Class
  • Gym-to-Outdoor transition including anchor building
  • Self-rescue, rappelling, pick-offs, Single Pitch skills

All climbers must have a current signed waiver on file. Under 18 must have a parent sign for them.

Fitness + YOGA

Utilize our newly designed athletic training and fitness center supplying top of the line equipment and renovated locker rooms. The new professional design offers an environment unlike any other and provides our members a place to pursue their goals.

Visit the Yoga Studio, a place to warm up, stretch and mentally engage your body for optimal training. Join and sign up for any of the yoga or fitness classes to practice your strength and conditioning to help further your journey to a healthier lifestyle. Utilize our team of specialists in sports specific training, strength and conditioning, high-intensity endurance training, balance & flexibility and sports performance psychology. Youth Programs

Our youth climbing programs provide an array of recreational and competitive options for the aspiring climber. Climbing is an exciting sport for anyone who wants to push the vertical world to its limits. It allows a social outlet in an individual format of sport. Climbing and training in a peer environment, brings the support, inspiration and companionship provided by a group of people motivated by a shared goal. Our programs, both mentally and physically, promote safety, confidence, strength and focus while intentionally investing in people and community in ways that will inspire the next generation of athletes.
